Everlasting Innovation Cycle

The cycle begins with a shift. Everyone looks at each other. We wait, but for what, it’s unclear.
Some educators are waiting for policy to dictate how AI will and will not be used in the classroom. Only then will they feel comfortable learning the tools, adjusting their practice, trying something new.
It’s not wrong. It’s safe.
Others are waiting to fully understand all that there is to understand about AI before crafting policies. Policy-makers provide guidance, after all. Anything that is not a final draft shouldn’t go into a handbook or a set of guidelines.
It’s not wrong. It’s safe.
Policies, like educational innovations themselves, are iterative. While some are waiting, others are moving forward, exploring. That exploration turns into a tipping point, and a pedagogical shift happens.
Never has there been a better example of the iterative nature of education than now.
The thing is, that has always been true.
